Gerald
Stallings was born Oct. 3, 1941 at Pekin, IL He attended school in
Pekin and graduated from Pekin High School in 1960. He enlisted in
the Army that same year and had his basic training at Fort Hood, TX.
His second 8 weeks he went to helicopter school at Fort Eustis, VA.
He was in Korea in 1961 and went to Vietnam in 1965. His job in
Vietnam was Crew Chief on a helicopter gun ship. He was shot down
during that period and taken prisoner. Gerald has three children, 2
girls and a boy, eight grandchildren, 6 boys and 2 girls. He 1ives
in Green Valley, IL and loves it there.
He says the
town and people are great. He works at Midwest Central Middle School
and loves the job and the students and thinks the staff is awesome.
