A small portion of the proceeds from the sale
of
the DVD will go toward the
new stage proposed for Veteran's
Park in Manito. |
The DVD is over an
hour and a half long and includes all the major speakers
from the 4 day event: Col. Robbie Robertson, Col. Fred
Allen, Phillip Frederick, Norm Lacer and Gerald Stallings.
Each of the speaker's talks are accompanied with correlating
photos and video that help visually enhance the speaker's
remarks. Also included are; several slideshows set to music
specially acquired for this DVD; the Pekin High School Honor
Guard's POW/MIA ceremony; Rev. Shane Smith singing "American
Soldier" with accompanying video and photos; the Candle
Light Vigil; the Procession coming into the Village and
finally: the entire 2 1/2 hours of the Wall's assemblage
fast forwarded down to 3 minutes and set to special music.
A lot of time and love went into the production of this DVD
in order to create a movie that can be watched over and over
and cherished for generations. If you visited the Wall in
Manito and want to remember; if you couldn't attend the
event and want to see what you missed; if you are a Veteran
or know one or if you just want to own a piece of local
history, please don't miss out on this opportunity.

Deanna (Garlisch) Brust
I love photography. I enjoy taking flower pictures,
landscapes, my grandson's baseball games and, of course,
over the years I've taken plenty of family photos.
Photography is more than just hobby though. On a
professional level, I took the 150th Manito picture at
Memorial Park and several of my photos were in the 150th
Manito Book. I also created the souvenir DVD for the Forest
City Sesquicentennial and sell my fine art photos at
different artist's venues. In addition to photography, I
have worked the last 34 years at OSF Medical Center in the
Lab. |
