Board president, Phil Frederick opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag.

Secretary’s Report and Treasurer’s Report were given and filed.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the board decided to change the date of the annual dinner to Wednesday, February 5th at 6 p.m. at Willett’s Winery if the room is available.

The annual meeting will be held with a dinner at 6 p.m. at Willett’s Winery on Wednesday, February 5. Invitations will be sent to all members and the information will also appear in the newspapers. Rayeann Meeker will accept the reservations.  The theme for the dinner will be “Spotlight on our Schools” with a presentation by Supt. Steve  Friedrich was elected as a new board member.

As previously reported, the Village Board, MAPP Council, and Chamber Board have financially supported the Billboard Shop Local promotion. For the first year, 16 Businesses are needed to endorse the purposed advertisements. Recently over 100 Area Businesses have been e-mailed to participate in this promotion. Updated results will presented at the next Chamber meeting.

President Phil announced that the new Adams Street signs directing drivers to the business district on Broadway had been ordered and should be erected soon.

It was decided to table the decision regarding the newspaper ad partnership with Banner Times for “Shop Local.”

The board also decided to table the discussion regarding the door to door ad campaign discussed by John Bernshausen last month.

Website discussion included the idea that all of the spotlighted business photos should appear regularly on the website.  Business names could be added to the photos on the website.

In discussion of the Welcome Wagon, it was determined that $775 Manito Money had been given by the Chamber to new residents which meant that 31 new residents received gifts. A gift is not delivered if a resident moves from one home to another in town.

Manito Money with the special discounted rate was sold in December by selling $25 certificates for $20 which meant that $500 of Chamber money was invested back into the community as well as the value of the Money given as gifts in December.

NEXT MEETING:  FRIDAY, February 7, 2014 AT 7:00 A.M. AT JUST LIKE HOME.
